06: Warrior in Motion: The Story of Cakti Dwiputra

Cakti didn’t grow up knowing boxing would define his life. At 17, he was simply a kid drawn to movement; trying different sports, exploring martial arts, searching for something that felt right. The moment he stepped into a boxing gym, everything clicked. This wasn’t just another sport. This was his.

Since then, boxing has shaped every part of who he is. His journey led him to Indonesia’s biggest stages: Regionals, Nationals, and PON, the national tournament held only once every four years. Among them all, PON became the fight that changed him the most. Not because it was easy, but because everything around it wasn’t.

COVID hit. Funding was cut. Resources were limited. The effort poured into preparation didn’t match what was given back. For many, that would’ve been the end. For Cakti, it became the reason to keep going. He trained with whatever he had, stayed locked in, and pushed through uncertainty. That persistence paid off with a silver medal, making history as one of the few original Balinese boxers to achieve it in such a short time.

What defines Cakti as an athlete isn’t just what happens in the ring. It’s discipline. To him, discipline is what keeps you moving when life doesn’t wait. When things fall apart, discipline is what holds everything together. From there, everything flows.

Outside the ring, that same mindset stays with him. Indonesian boxing lives by a motto that translates to “a warrior inside and outside the ring,” and Cakti carries that with intention. He’s constantly training, constantly evolving, always competing; not with others, but with himself.

His strength didn’t come without struggle. From serious illness as a baby, to surgery, to injuries that could’ve ended his journey early, Cakti has faced more than most. He doesn’t dwell on those moments. Everyone has their battles. Some stay defined by them. He chose not to.

Living in constant motion has shaped how he expresses himself, including style. Boxing gave him confidence, and confidence gave him freedom. For Cakti, jewelry isn’t about decoration. It’s a symbol. A reflection of who he is and how he carries himself. Silver, especially, feels right, strong, grounded, and honest.

That’s what drew him to Salted Drift. A brand that moves the same way he does. Jewelry built for people who live in motion. This collaboration, alongside 2PEACOCK, a brand known for essentials that move with you, felt natural. Comfort, confidence, and presence without the need to prove anything.

Ask Cakti what advice he’d give young athletes who feel lost, and his answer is simple: know what you signed up for, and stay disciplined. Discipline isn’t just training. It’s how you live. Once it’s anchored in your mindset, you’ll always find a way forward.

If he had to describe his journey in one word, it would be adventurous. Boxing, like life, is lonely, uncertain, and emotional. It’s not for everyone. But if you have the heart for it, you stay on the ride.

This is what Crafted for Motion looks like.
